Hometown Heroes is a national program which honors veterans and first responders by hanging banners throughout town.

The Faribault Hometown Heroes is a project started by Virginia van Sluis of the Faribault Elks and assisted by Deb Petersen, Commander of the Faribault Chapter of DAV.
We took the idea to the Chamber of Commerce, Parks & Rec, and Faribault City Council and all organizations welcomed the project for Faribault as a way for citizens of the community to honor their loved ones who served this great country and our own Hometown Heroes.

Hometown Heroes Faribault is a welcomed tradition for our community.

A banner example:

Each banner is 30” x 60” and displayed on the light posts within Faribault for a period of 6 months.

The Banner has information about the Veteran or First Responder(s) along with a photograph.

Banners can be purchased for $180.00 each and are tax deductible. The batches of banners will be displayed from Veterans Day until Memorial Day, and from Memorial Day until Veterans Day.

In addition, for each banner a web page will be be created under the FaribaultHometownHeroes.org web site, with additional information, if submitted.
